New Map for Brampton

Keen walkers braved intermittent showers on Saturday to help celebrate the unveiling of a new Parish Paths map in the town.

Brampton Walkers are Welcome have been steadily working towards the design, production and display of an updated map informing visitors to the town where are the best places to walk. The new board is located next to the Off The Wall Cafe in Brampton.

Nicky Beecham, Chair of the Brampton Walkers are Welcome Steering Group was keen to thank those who have supported the project;

“We couldn’t have achieved this without the support of Brampton Parish Council and Carlisle City Council whose £1000 Neighbourhood Forum grant helped us to meet the costs of this project.”

“We were also keen to keep this a local project and have used Visual Imprint in Kirkbride for the design and Brampton Woodworkers for the production of the sign.”

Brampton Walkers are Welcome will now concentrate on producing walks leaflets that will guide visitors from the new map to some of the outstanding scenery throughout the Parish of Brampton

Brampton Councillor Steve Layden was also present to help unveil the new map.

“The map is an excellent piece of work, attractive and informative. We should encourage as many people as possible to enjoy walking in our fine environment, locals and tourists alike.”
There are still a number of guided walks being offered in 2012
