Next month we have a lovely varied walk on Sunday 12th June beside river and tarn, under railway, through woodland and fields, of around 6 miles or 3-4 hours.
Walk Leader: Jeff Dubberley, retired warden of Talkin Tarn.
We walk from the electricity substation on the outskirts of Brampton along the River Gelt to Middle Gelt Bridge, that superb example of Victorian railway architecture, through the secret and mystical village of Greenwell to the Village of Talkin. Skirting the Tarn itself we will return to our starting point via Wreay Lonning.
Meet at the Moot Hall, Brampton for car share at 10.30am, or 10.40 at the electricity substation at the top of the Black Path.
Bring a picnic and a waterproof. Tel 016977 3103 or 3111 for further details.
