Cold Fell

Sunday 11th June.  Free Guided Walk.

A Midsummer walk up our highest local mountain. (621m / 2000ft).  Distance 7- 8 miles. Moderate pace. 380 metres of ascent. Can be wet, rough and boggy ground but the views are fantastic. On a clear day you can see over to Cross Fell.

Route: over Cold Fell to Brown Fell, down to the Gairs track, return to Clesketts via Howgill.  Birds we might see:  curlew, lapwing, golden plover, stonechat, whinchat, skylark, reed bunting, meadow pipit.

Meet members of the group for a relaxed Sunday morning coffee beforehand from 10.00am at Hallbankgate Hub., Or meet at Brampton Moot Hall at 10.30am for lift share to walk start, Or meet ar RSPB Clesketts carpark at Hallbankgate at 10.45am.

Bring a packed lunch.  Sorry, no dogs on this walk because of ground nesting birds.
